Gunners DayThis important day in the Artillery Calendar falls on 26 May each year. On that day in 1716, King George I issued a Royal Warrant forming the first regular artillery force in Britain. The Royal Regiment of Artillery (RA) therefore acknowledge 26 May as their birthday, and celebrate it in appropriate Gunner fashion. As a Commonwealth Artillery Regiment allied to the RA, we recognise their customs and traditions.
