The "TERRI" Song

The words for this song were 'stolen' from an old Billy Connelly number, and were re-written to suit the New Zealand Army of the period. The 'new' words were written by Grant "Hannibal" Hays, Brian "Skin" Frances, Warren "Snow" Berkett and Bob "Kruger" Kinzett.

When I was just a snot nosed youth,
And tired of being ignored.
I suddenly said to myself,
Why are you so bored???
I wanted some adventure,
Some muscles, and some power.
So I went to my local Territorials,
And joined within the hour.

CHORUS:
I am a Weekend Soldier!
And the world is scared of ME!
I've fought in many Battles, AND!
I'm always home in time for TEA!
Oh Yes, I am a Weekend Soldier!
And the world is scared of ME!
I've fought in many Battles, AND!
I'm always home in time for TEA!

Well I've been in the Terri's for a wee while now,
And I must admit it isn't all that bad.
Cause, when I put my Jungle Hat on,
I look like Fred-erick Dagg!
My parka fits me perfectly,
But the trou could be improved.
I have to take three steps or more,
Before they even start to move.
